7 members of the group are taking part in this exhibition which is part of the Bealtaine Festival in Co. Meath. Group Profile

THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE ART GROUP

The Old Schoolhouse Art Group was
established in 2001 as a result of members taking part in adult
art education classes at the old National School in Dunboyne. The
teacher, Marysia Harasimovicz, initiated the formation of the
group.

We are a very mixed group of
people, male and female, of different nationalities and from a
variety of professions, but all living in and around Dunboyne.
Over the years some members have moved on and other local artists
have been invited to join.

Our artwork covers a range of
subject matters, which include landscapes, farmyard scenes,
floral, figurative, decorative, abstract and still life. Mediums
used vary from watercolour, pastels, acrylics, oils, textiles,
print techniques and mixed media.

The Group runs a dynamic programme
of exhibitions and have already exhibited as a group on eight
occasions in different locations around Co. Meath. We have also
held an open annual exhibition at Christmas in Dunboyne for the
past six years.

Some members still meet at the
adult art classes on a Thursday evening at the Old National
School in Dunboyne while other members work independently. The
whole group meet on a regular basis to plan forthcoming events
and exhibitions and to catch up on each other’s news.
